What are the health benefits of mocha?
Mocha contains espresso, so it features many of the health benefits of a shot of espresso. However, there are some questions about whether turning the drink into a mocha makes it more or less beneficial for your health.
On one hand, the added syrup and any other sweeteners are usually a detriment to health. They can raise blood sugar and cause a host of other problems in large quantities.
On the other hand, a study from Clarkson University and the University of Georgia suggests that a cup of mocha may provide better cognitive results for drinkers.
Overall, participants in the study reported improved mental clarity and mental health after drinking coffee with cocoa elements. These improvements were higher than those who drank only coffee.
So the jury’s still out on this one! Mocha may be a decadent drink, but it still has a lot of the benefits people are seeking from coffee.
